Is It Worth Repairing a Cracked Phone Screen?

Repair, live with it, or upgrade? A simple way to decide — and why leaving a crack can cost you more.

Why you shouldn’t ignore a crack

  • ✓Cracks spread — a small chip can become a shattered screen after another knock.
  • ✓Glass splinters can cut your fingers.
  • ✓Moisture and dust can get in through cracks and damage the parts underneath.
  • ✓Touch can start to fail, with “ghost” presses or dead zones.

When repairing makes sense

If the rest of your phone works well — good battery, enough storage, still getting updates — a screen repair is almost always the best value. It costs a fraction of a new phone and keeps a device you’re already happy with.

When upgrading might be better

If your phone is no longer receiving software updates, the battery barely lasts a day and the screen is broken, it can be worth putting the repair money towards a newer phone. Ask us — we’ll tell you honestly which option makes sense, and we also buy and sell phones.
